lunes, 14 de diciembre: Quiz on the conjugation of -ar, -er & -ir verbs
miércoles, 16 de diciembre: matching test on all vocabulary from your study sheet on Unidad 2 etapa 3
jueves, 17 de diciembre: verb test. For this test, you must know the meanings of all the verbs on your study sheet. You must know how to conjugate -ar, -er & -ir verbs. You must also know the irregular verbs ser, estar, tener & ir and the verbs hacer, conocer & oír.
This test will be followed by a small celebration.
viernes, 18 de diciembre: This is a special day of entertainment and fun! Pancake breakfast, trivia games, performance by the VHS dancers, improv, teacher talent show and more!! Lots of prizes, too!!!
Tuesday, December 1: Oral presentations on la hora and tener que.
We are currently working through Unidad 2 etapa 2. On Tuesday and Wednesday we’ll learn two new irregular verbs ir (to go) and estar (to be).

Be able to say where you are going and at what time.
Remember: ir a = to go to a place
ex. Voy al gimnasio.

Remember: Estar en = to be in/at a place
ex. Estoy en la cafetería.

We are now starting Unidad 2 etapa 2. This etapa deals with school timetables. This week we’ll be learning to tell time in Spanish.
Friday, November 27: Quiz on telling time. Looking at a clock, students will need to be able to tell time. They will also have to write down the time that I say. We will have a practice quiz on Wednesday or Thursday.
Monday, November 30: Oral presentation. Specific instructions and criteria for this presentation will be given on Wednesday. At the start of class on Thursday their presentation must be written and ready for correction.
On Monday, Nov. 9 we will start working on the new vocabulary from Unidad 2 etapa 1. This vocab is on page 117 in your texts, but we will be copying the vocabulary into our notebooks during class.
Friday, Nov. 13: Quiz on vocabulary related to the classroom
On Thursday, Nov. 12, we will review verbs and learn some new ones. We will learn how to conjugate -AR verbs.
Wednesday, Nov 18: Verb Test
Students will need to know how to conjugate -AR verbs.

There will be a quiz on “la familia” on Wednesday, Nov. 4.
- Unit 1 etapa 3 Test Outline:
the irregular verb TENER–Know how to conjugate this verb
la familia–Know all vocab related to family
los números 0 -100 Know how to spell numbers 0 – 30
la fecha– Know how to write the date in Spanish. Know the months of the year.
los adjectivos posesivos–ex. my sister, your brother
answering questions–¿Cuántos años tienes? ¿Cuál es la fecha de tu cumpleaños? etc.
Be sure to study all vocab on your study sheet/ page 91
In etapa 3 will be covering numbers from 0 – 100, months of the year, birth dates, ages, and vocab related to the family. We’ll also cover possessive adjectives (my brother, your sister, etc.) A vocabulary list will be given to students. Students must learn all vocabulary on page 91 in text.

Thursday, Oct. 29: Quiz on numbers. 1)You will have to count from 11-20 and by tens to 100. 2) You will need to say in Spanish a random number that I point to between 11-100. 3) You will need to write down the 10 numbers that I dictate to you. eg. I say “cuarenta y cuatro” and you write “44”
Tuesday, Nov. 3: Test on Unit 1 etapa 3 Outline will be given to students a few days before.
You are going to describe the person in your picture according to the following criteria:
2. Three descriptive adjectives
3. Eye color
4. Hair color
5. Clothing (include at least one article of clothing and colour)
Your Spanish sentences must be ready for correction on Thursday, Oct. 22.
The Spanish should not be written on the same paper as your drawing and your English hints.
